YouTube Strikes Again 2020 on Newly Uploaded Videos
YouTube Strikes Again, YouTube is at it again with its uploaders. Now that a new update has rolled out on the youtube platform, you can expect more and more videos will be marked at 18 plus and the YouTuber will not have a say so in this action. Once you have your videos marked as eighteen plus, you can try and appeal the decision, but good luck with them removing that from your video.
History of YouTube Strikes Again
If you have been a content creator on YouTube for the last five years, you know whenever they roll out a new update on their platform, many creators will suffer in some sort of way. Before, if you released a video on something that the bots would flag as not suited for all ages, they would demonetize the video and you would have to appeal the decision to get the video re-monetized again.
Usually, the flagging of the video was in error and had nothing to do with your video but the system. We all know how much of a pain it is to file an appeal especially when you have mutable videos to appeal, the waiting time is a pain. Most times when you file an appeal on a decision, it can take up to a month to get the issue resolved.
YouTube Strikes Again YouTube platform Update 2020
Now that it is a new year, and we are battling the Coronavirus and election Trump vs Biden, Youtube has now rolled out a new update that will now mark most if not all videos eighteen plus without having a say in the matter. If you are a creator who will review android apps much like myself, be warned that your video will be set to eighteen plus by YouTube.
Once your video is marked eighteen plus, you can kiss monetization goodbye on that video because YouTube will not let any videos be monetized if videos are marked eighteen plus. What I am trying to say, the many creators on youtube that have millions of subscribers will now lose money from ad revenue.
When you have appealed the decision because the bots have flagged the video in error, you will get a message “Thank you for submitting your video appeal to YouTube. After further review, we've determined that while your video does not violate our Community Guidelines, it may not be appropriate for a general audience. We have therefore age-restricted your video.
How Does This Affect Me?
If your videos are not children friendly, then you will get hit with this new upgrade flagging system, making all of your videos not suitable for monetization. Anything that youtube deems not to be appropriate for children will be affected by this new update. Channels that are based on reviews, scam callers people like Mr. Beast, and many other channels alike will not be able to monetize their videos as all of his videos are now eighteen plus.
When trying to watch the video set to eighteen plus, youtube is now making the user sign in to their account to verify you are eighteen plus, without signing in to your account, there will be no way for you to see the video even if the video was embedded to a website.
The only way your channel will not be affected is if your channel is a kids channel, that will not be affected by this new update released on youtube. It is crazy that youtube is rolling out this update, now more creators are having to be worried if their videos will be hit with this new update.
I have seen people on youtube from my genre buy new homes from the money they get from their youtube videos, where will that leave them if they will no longer get the money on the videos that get hundreds of thousands of views on the video?
I have always said it, do not count on real money from youtube, because they are always pulling stuff like this on their platform. We will have to see what Youtube and their new policy has in store for all content creators. You can check out their new Policy on Community Guidelines
