Arizona Public Service (APS)

Arizona Public Service (APS) If you live in Arizona, then you must have or hear about this company. Many areas in Arizona use APS for their electric needs, all other areas like parts in Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale use SRP (Salt River Project)

For those who have APS, you will want to hear what is the latest news about this company. As you may have already known, this company has been charging outrageous charges to use their services for years now.

This year the company has gotten approval from the Corporation Commission of Arizona to increase the rates yet again. As of now, the charges to have the service super seeds are more than the actual usage of electricity.

As you can see the charges when using electricity with APS. This is their new billing that was passed by the government of Arizona.

To fully understand how this billing works, I will give you a breakdown of my bill and how I am getting charged for my electric usage. Remember, I conserve my electricity very much.

I am going off my recent summer bill I use roughly about 1446kWh for the month, my bill this month was $169.15 most of that bill was charged and not my actual usage. Here is a graph of my bill and the excessive charges APS charges me.

Information on Billing

As you can see my recent bill is high, and this is someone who conserves electricity, by using energy-saving appliances, bulbs, and washes during off-peak hours. I would hate to see the bills of those who do not conserve electricity.
You can see my actual usage charges are $112.27 + taxes =$129.85 if you take the full bill charge of $169.15 minus the actual usage of 112.27 and the taxes. APS is charging an extra $40 to use their service, not to mention the excessive rates per kWh.

Information on the history of the company

As in recent articles state, this company has already received a $95 million dollar rate hike on customers by the Arizona Corporation Commission after APS spent millions of dollars over the years on campaigns for those who regulate them.
They should be held accountable for their greed and misinformation. Let’s sign the partition to have a rehearing to lower our rates. Right now there is a partition by Stacey Champion to have a rehearing on the recent rate increase hike from APS. If you want to sign the partition you can do so here: Rehearing partition
Our goal is to reach 7,500 signatures, we are almost there just a few more signatures and we will reach our goal. So if you live in Arizona and are being serviced by APS, please sign the partition, and let’s get this rehearing to have our rates drop.
If you could help by donating anything to help with the legal fees, would be greatly appreciated. When you have to choose food or your electricity, that becomes a problem for all of us.
Let’s get to stop this greedy company before they try to increase the rates yet again.
“Per A.R.S. 40-246, we, the customers of APS, believe that APS is in violation of commission order, therefore demand a rate hike rehearing” Stacey Champion
